Help … needing a range/space to use.

Post by Red Beard »

I have a hunting trip lined up come November and I’d like to fire a few rounds to ensure my scope is still holding true. Anyone know of an area I can throw a few rifle rounds down range at?

What he said. Driven near there and saw the signs but haven't actually seen it. It's not far from the airport in Tallahassee if I an remembering correctly.

Aware of that but didn’t know if rifles were allowed. And not sure what he distance is, was hoping to get at least a 100 yards.

The Apalachicola range has a 100 yard side, if you are brave enough to go out there.

Also, in Wakulla County the Otter Creek sheriff's range can be used for a small daily fee and they have 100 yard and a longer range for rifles. They are located between Sopchoppy and Medart.

I think Talon Range in Midway charges a daily fee and they have about any yardage you need. Great place to shoot.

What Fred said.

I'm not brave enough to test my luck at the ANF range anymore, I've got kids to think about. I'm being only a little facetious. That place is the wild west and muzzle discipline and basic range safety guidelines are barely an afterthought for many.

Wakulla Sheriff's range and Talon are both fantastic options. Safe, clean, and professionally maintained.

I concur with both previous posts. Never been to the the Otter Creek range but I've heard good things about it.

Just set some cans on top of a few channel markers, beach the boat, and blast away.
