Grouper Trolling

Post by Greenbone »

We headed out Carrabelle River about 8:45am Friday to try our luck trolling couple stretches. Our first hit came about 9:30, it had a good pull so we thought we had the first for the box.WRONG ! It was a ray! Very short tail, 30” across , but didn’t look like normal sting ray, manta ray maybe ? Sorry didn’t get a picture. Bite was very slow so headed off to drop baits in 50’ , short Gag’s and big reds snappers . Went back to trolling between 35-45’ , ended the day with a 28”.
