Mostly Offshore Sunday

Post by Srbenda »

We fished a few oyster bars to start off the morning, with limited success, a few short trout and a 17.25 redfish, but the bite was slowwwwww.

Mrs. Srbenda prefers offshore, and we'd thought we would give it a shot.

With a bluebird sky, and very light winds we ran out to the sandbar and decided to press on. We hit a few close-in spots with limited success, and ended up running out to about 30'. Water temps were about 58f

There was about a 1' swell early in the day with a few 1.5' thrown in, but by 200pm, it settled down quite nicely.

We had light inshore gear, but had lots of fun with black sea bass, grunts, and these fish, whose name escapes me.

We kept 4 grunts for dinner, and had a nice ride back around 400pm, as the clouds and wind began to pick up.

It was nice to finally have a day to get offshore and away from trout...

Ah yes
Did not get any of eating size, but they're feisty.
