Fog Beach, I mean Keaton 1-03-09

Post by Ugafishman »

Put in at Keaton at about 8am in what we thought was thick fog, until we got past the pier and out into the channel. We then encountered the thick stuff. Went to Spring Warrior and did not get a bite. Back to Dekle, nothing. Adams Beach, nothing. We threw every color gulp we had on the boat. Went back to the marina for coffee and to regroup. Decided to go back to Spring Warrior. Two more hours and no bites. Fog finally broke at 2:00 pm. I switched from gulps to a Space Guppy bass assassin with a chartreuse jighead and caught four straight keepers. Switched from a 1/4 oz to a 1/8 oz jighead and probably caught 35 more in the next two hours. It's amazing what one little change will do.

Spring warrior creek at the tripod. 2-3 ft. of water with a grassy bottom. Incoming tide. Have fun.

We had several idiots pass us going full speed in the fog without so much as one running light on. We had life jackets on and kill switch hooked on too!

I had my lights on but I don't think helped much more than my peace of mind. I thought about the life jackets but didn't strap 'em on.
