Econfina 12/15

Post by ugadawg »

Went to Econfina for the first time in a long time yesterday. Planned on a late start because of the tides, and still had to wait for almost an hour once we were there as there was no water in the river.

Once we were able to get out, we stopped and fished in the river toward the mouth. Caught most of our limit on plugs, until it turned off and the fish only wanted live shrimp. Had a great day on the water and got the freezer restocked!

Great day out there!

We launched St Marks around 1030ish and fished around Cake Corner wearing out the trout, even caught a nice red. Then as tide came in we moved out and east; wore out the reds. Probably 40 + fish on the day? Even snagged a jombo sheepy.

Fishing sure is awesome right now on the #BOOMCoast! I need to get back to Eco asap!

We fished Sunday, quite unsuccessfully. We did get 2 keeper trout, but nothing worked consistently.

There were some dolphins smashing something, but it was shallower than I wanted to try and get into.

Nothing but Premium Quality Fish.

Also, Srbenda, those dolphin were chasing the 10,000 mullet roaming around.

Cake Corner!! A hot spot for sure. We have code names for dozens of spots. That way we can talk in public and no one really knows where we are talking about... To name a few code names: Cake Corner, S Curve, Bomber Bay, Hookset Harbor, OG, OG1, OG2, Chris' Hole, Awesome, High Tide, and many more.

Ah, thanks. Glad I didnt try to get over there

Personally, I prefer fishing in Whiskey Barrel Hole or Gin Creek
