Success at St Marks

Post by Rainman »

I think every fish in St Marks was biting yesterday. We had an absolute slapfest. Limit of reds to 26.9999, let several top water 30+ reds go. Caught keeper trout just about every cast. We let small ones go and only kept 17 plus inch trout. Once the trout limit was done we caught some pins and headed out deeper and put some nice flounder and a keeper cobia! One of the best fishing days of the year!!!!

Wow, I musta missed the party. I fished a little around the oyster bars, then caught pins and used a bunch of diferent baits on St Marks reef. Nada. Haven't been skunked that badly in a while.
Any advice on the reds? What was the pattern?

A friend of mine went Saturday near the rocks in 6 to 7' of water and he said the bite was awesome right before high tide. It seems like I'm always going to the wrong spot.

That’s one of those truly special days. Thanks for posting. The new moon and nice weather seemed to have em turned on. We found a hot gag bite on Sunday as well.

Didn't know that much fish would fit in a RTIC 65 quart!! Reds were on top water around rock grass patches in 3ft of water.

Expected nothing less.
