March 2023 Mosquito Lagoon Backcountry New Smyrna Beach

Post by CaptMikeSavedow »

Spring 2023 is here, temperatures rising both air and water, fishing becomes more lively with surface activity, the spring shrimp run, more bait fish appearing, Black Drum, Jack Crevalle, Bluefish, Ladyfish and more are bending rods, pulling drag. Starting trips earlier as summer gets closer is the normal for more first thing in the morning fish catching. Free line fishing live shrimp and throwing small lures my normal for this time of year, fishing for what ever fun fish want to pull on our lines. Spring is beautiful weather here, usually dry pretty days with a nice breeze, not yet as hot as will be once summer comes. Jim here visiting from Washington State had a fun trip, catching a bunch of different species, topped off with this nice Black Drum …………..
