I'm surprised no one has been attacked in alligator harbor. Plenty of tubers and swimmers, in not the most clear water. Lots of juvenile bulls and black tips there.

I've seen a shark up by the refinery on the St marks before. I'm sure they go up farther.

Bull Sharks have been caught over 100 miles up the Mississippi River. I've seen some big swirls and what looked like a shark fin up near Manatee Springs on the Suwanee River, but the water was too dark to be absolutely sure. Most of the shark guys I've seen or talked to over the years say that the Bull Shark is responsible for a vast majority of bites on humans. Glad that kid made it.
Its a wonderful day in the neighborhood!

Actually, bull sharks have been confirmed as far north up the Mississipi River as Alton Il and over 2,600 miles up the Amazon. They also reportedly have a resident population in Lake Nicarauga which is completely fresh water.

On Shark Week they said Bull sharks have the highest testosterone level of any animal on earth. They were rated the #1 shark threat of all species.

I remember someone relating how they'd seen a bullshark feeding on a dead manatee in the Wakulla.. Nothing really to stop them from swimming up as far as they please.
