Sad News on Sir Reel's Passing

Post by big bend gyrene »

For those who've frequented the forum for more than a year or two, almost all will recognize the forum name of "Sir Reel" and many will remember a thread where he shared the sad news of his ALS diagnosis.

Having not seen any posts from him for some time, I did a google search for his name and sadly found he passed away in October. Guessing some closer friends on the forum were already aware but guessing quite a few others might not have heard the news.

For anyone who might be so inclined, it looks like family and friends set up a GoFund me campaign in his name for a cause that was special to him.

Sorry to hear this. ALS is a tough way to go. Lost my Dad years ago to the same disease. Hope a cure is found soon.

Sad news. Bud was a gentleman and passionate angler. May he rest in peace.

Sorry to hear about Bud, we met him and his wife a few years back at one of the Big Bend fishfrys we used to have. Seemed like a really nice fellow. I miss those gatherings, they were fun.
