the older I get

Post by Blue spinner »

i have travel all over this country working
and along the way I got to fish and hunt in some of the best places in the country
but as a young man I did not enjoy and appreciate what was put there for us in life
as me and KG was talking this morning it's not all about all you can shoot and catch
we don't need to kill ever thing moving and catch ever fish in a pone or river
although we tried
now it great to just watch the dogs work a field and find the birds or watch the red on the shore line chasing bait
be out on the flats at sun rise and just watch the sun come up and watch someone else catch the fish
the joy in there face is a great site be a kid or a senior person
i have been very fortunate to be able to go back to a lot of the places we have travel and enjoy them
i have had time for the last 3 week to think about this
I got a new left knee for Chrisman,
i will be back in my boat by the end of January enjoying what the good lord has given us

I hope we all have a great year enjoying what we so love and are passionate about
Thank Bluespinner

Well said spinner. I hope the knee heals quickly and you are fishing again soon but don't rush it. I've had a new right knee every year for the past three years and it's better but still not right and each time it took almost a full year to heal.

Maybe "Knee Issues" should have its own forum topic header. I had surgery on my right knee two months ago, and it still won't bend through full range of motion. Can still kind of wade and kayak fish, but getting into/out of the yak looks like an "America's Funniest Home Videos" audition.

Good luck with rehab and get back out there soon, Blue Spinner. Gimpy fishing still beats not fishing!

:-D I'm with you Spinner, I too enjoy more helping someone experience the outdoors more than I enjoy it myself. Heal up quickly spring fishing is coming. I hope to get to Ecofina this spring. :-D

A lot of the time just being there, is where the enjoyment springs from.
Its nice to think back over past experiences and relive the pleasure, something I do a lot.

Regarding knee replacements. I had my right knee done in 2005 and the left one in 2010.
Both have had plenty of miles on them and so far, have never let me down.
Two of the best decisions I ever made.
