Marathon's my home town. I haven't been back in a few years but the Turtle Hospital has always been the biggest attraction in Marathon. If you're willing to do a party boat trip, I'd suggest The Marathon Lady. (docks next to the Vaca Cut bridge in Marathon Shores) She's been there forever and does day and night trips. The night trip is a blast for mangrove snapper and yellowtail if you can get them past the sharks. Stop by Coconuts Bar on Big Pine and tell the owner (Joe Britz) to give you a beer on me. :-D then travel the back roads on Big Pine to see the Key deer.
Oh yeah, The 7 Mile Grill is on the right just before getting on the 7 Mile Bridge and they used to make the best grouper sandwich and conch fritters in the Keys.

If you want to do the turtle hospital that time of year you will probably need reservations. Check on it now.
Feed the tarpon @ Robbie's in Islamorada. Might as well do the World Wide Sportsman while in Islamorada.
Snorkeling @ Sombrero Lighthouse.
It's not cheap but you might like a trip to Ft Jefferson by Ferry or Plane out of Key Weird.

Restaurants:
Sparky's, Island Fish Company, Burdines. All can reached by boat if you like.
Stuffed Pig for breakfast. Sunset grill @ 7 mile bridge for brunch (with Bloody Mary Bar). Try the bananas foster french toast.

Bob’s Bunz or chef Michael’s for breakfast.

Ziggy’s for a quaint steak dinner with Jess.

The OG Square Grouper in Cudjoe and Noname pub on Big Pine.
In the end we will conserve only what we love. We will love only what we understand. And we will understand only what we are taught.

I'll second The No Name Pub! It's a must imo. Everything there is good and you'll like the wall paper. :-D
Pigeon Key is interesting too.

I’ll 2nd the Turtle hospital, do make reservations. Are you bringing a boat? The back country is beautiful, a day trip to Flamingo would be a worthwhile

I had good results with Superfish out of sparkys for mahi charter. Book early.
Restaurants - South of the Seven(Sugarloaf), Keys Fisheries, Franks(might need reservation)

As far as stuff to do, I like Cudjoe sales fisherman warehouse. Can always find something there. Kid wise, swim with the dolphins, turtle hospital, aquarium.
