Fished the Econfina yesterday but went upstream rather than down. The early low tide laid the banks of the river bare, and the full moon had this place looking like a Western PA trout stream. I had to literally climb out of the boat and pull it over rock riffles and fallen trees. Thankfully, its a metal boat. Picked up several nice largemouths on craw colored crankbait. The further you go up this river, the more vegetated it gets. Had to switch to small trickworm on ultralight spin rod due to slimy string algae. Got some small fish and lots of Stumpknockers. Came back down river on incoming tide, so it wasn't so bad. All in all, this is a pretty good little bass river. Next time I'll fish it on a less aggressive tide.
