top water plastics

Post by basstired »

Top water worms are a good way to fish, early and late in the day. Love to fish the horny toad but it is a little to fast when the water is 85 degrees. I used to fish "Charlie's" high floaters, 7 and 10 inch, but no one seems to carry them anymore. Any feedback on floating plastics available in this area?

The Yums look very similar to the discontinued Cotee lures that were known as "poodle turds." Bet they'd work about the same, too. We used to catch a lot of trout on the old dog crap baits.

Basstired, you're having trouble finding the Charlie's baits because they went out of business a few years ago.

The horny toad has still been working for me even with the high water temp. From day break up until about 9am and then again the last couple of hrs in the day. If you want something slower a spro frog is a good bait. You can stop it in the open holes in the pads or bump it along.
