Just had an off-line confab with one of these BBF geniuses and I think I understand now...tie your line to a stationary object with a SWIVEL attached and stretch out your line - the swivel allows the line to unwind as you apply pressure. Then just walk the line down and reel it back in and you're good to go.

The way Pa explained it first (leaving out the swivel) I couldn't imagine how that would untwist anything.

WolfeMan, let me make this easy for you...

1) This evening drive over to Lloyd. I can't meet you, but call and leave me a message so I can be SURE you follow the steps below properly.
2) The Lloyd dump now has a nice new Obama-funded fence. Tie the line from each rod you own to that fence.
3) Walk (or drive if you must) away
4) Come back the next morning and guarantee you won't have any problem with line twist on THOSE PARTICULAR rods anymore. :smt004

I get the dragging line behind the boat without a lure attached part, but I'm still a little confused about kicking the bear out of the boat. That sounds dangerous. :-D

Bman, I think Jumptrout's actually relieved that it's a bear that has to be trolled behind the boat and not one of his lovely lady friends. ;-)

I have a variation on the solution of tying the line to a tree or fence. Instead of tying it off I put on a swivel and sinker, hand it to my kid and tell him to run to the other end of my neighbors yard. He knows the deal now and calls it earning his keep.
