Spring Warrior

Post by Billy GoDowns »

Me my uncle and girlfriend decided to go to the big pond Sat. Have been wanting to go since the end of Jan but things just have not worked out. Got in the water about 8:00 or so, lots of boats once we got on the flats. Talked to James before we left and got the skinny on where the action was at. We headed to Big spring creek first. second cast 17in trount in the boat, my uncle calls it a fluke, :lick: and for the next 2.5 to 3 hr it was. Hook up with a few pin fish, they were perty bad. Moved several times and still not a lot of luck. Finally after lunch went on the east side of SP and finally got into some better trout. :smt004 The bit was very slow though and they would spit it out alot of times if you were not very careful setting the hook. My uncle was fishing with new penny gulps, and I with elect chicken slurps. Left at 3. Also caught something that looked like a Queen trigger fish. Sorry no pic girlfriend was to busy getting sun burnt. :smt007 Final total.

6 Keeper Trout
10 Short Trout
3 Blues
1 Spanish Mac
1 Flounder
and a good case of sun burn. All and all though a great day on the water.
