Spanish

Post by AJ »

Went offshore with some friends Sunday (I'll post that report later) and when we stopped for pinfish on Dog Island Reef we were attacked by Spanish Macks! Couldn't hardly get the pinfish to the boat without a Spanish eating it. Two of the guys were catching the macks while me and the Capt. were trying to fill the baitwell, they couldn't keep the macks off us. If you want Spanish, they are here.

Hey I fish mainly out of the Keaton Beach and Spring Warrior areas, but love the Spring Run of Spanish Mackerel on the East End of Dog Island. I have heard about the Dog Island Reef, but have never been. Approximately, WHERE is the Dog Island Reef? Is it between Dog Island and Alligator Point? How far a run is the Dog Island Reef from Carrabelle?

I bought a larger boat and would like to try the Dog Island Reef and other areas out from Carrabelle and St George Island.

Thanks,

I've heard that they're coming in hordes.

We usually catch Spanish on the flats but I caught one in about 2' of water Saturday, I usually don't catch them that shallow but I ain't one to complain. It tasted good.
