Alligator Pt. 5/12-5/13

Post by dawghouse1 »

Somehow managed to fish both days of Mothers Day Weekend without making my wife mad. Probably b/c the women were soaking up sun on the beach and didn't care what we were doing but kudos to my fishing partner for the ingenious plan. We headed out about 10 on Sat. towards Lanark w/ our 2 boys. We fished for trout until about 1:00 putting 5 keepers in the box along w/ a Flounder. All the trout were caught on grubs in 3-6'. With the weather being so nice we decided to run out and try to catch my boats' first grouper. We trolled some spots in 33-40 feet and caught 7 w/ 3 being keepers. Headed for the hill at 4:00.
On Sunday we cooked the women breakfast and headed out at 10:30 with the boys again to do some trolling. Caught 4 keeper grouper, 2 shorts, and broke off two good fish(one I think was a King). Tried to catch a trout on the way in but couldn't do anything but catch ladyfish.
This was my first time fishing this area but it won't be my last. It's pretty cool to be fishing for trout and 15 minutes later be pulling a grouper on board. I hope Fathers Day turns out this good. :D :D

How long do you have to be married before this can happen? I have been married 5 years, just wondering how much longer? Good Trip.
No matter what, it's a good day.

LuckySOB- At least 9 for me. The kids help when you can get them to go ask mom if daddy can take them fishing. :D :D

Catchin1- Very shady. Its a miracle we caught anything w/ him wearing that godforsaken Auburn shirt. :smt011 :smt011

It's easier and less painful to ask forgivness than permisson. Been married a year and sometimes she tells me to go fish. Maybe she's got a hot date but what do I care I'm fishing.

And there in lies the secret. Get ya a Yukon Cornelius hat and some red thermal underwear. Walk around acting like Santa Claus with your fly open and your wife will beg you to go fishing.
