Meanwhile, Larry had gone out to the flats south of Grey Mare and had gotten a trout and a Spanish - both keepers. Things quieted down, so I headed us out to Peter's Rock. The wind was out of the south which gave us a nice drift towards shore on an incoming tide. Larry had run out of jigheads for his Gulps so he tried a DOA shrimp and landed a nice 2 1/2 foot Black Tip Shark. Linda and I tied on some root beer DOAs and the fun started. Several keeper trout, lots of Ladyfish, and a few shorts. Larry caught another keeper trout and a Spanish. After two drifts the action stopped, so we headed back towards the West Flats and drifted in along the channel. We got two more keeper trout. The DOAs were really working well, some of the Spanish were on live shrimp under a CT, and some of the trout were on Gulps. It was an interesting mixed bag.
Larry was after a Red, so he headed for Big Pass. Sure enough, he landed a 19 incher as he worked along the bars in the pass uisng a gold Johnson Sprite spoon.
We finally went in around 4:00 in the afternoon. Total take:
Linda and Jeff - 6 Trout to 20 inches and 2 Spanish
Larry - 1 Black Tip, 1 Red, 2 Spanish, and 2 Trout

This was our best day on the water to date!
