My wife and I put in around 7:00 and headed out hoping to finally put her on a red and some big trout.we came up on a rocky area loaded with mullet and bait fish jumping everywhere.I rigged her with a Gulp and I tied on a zara spook.Third cast a 20 inch 4lb. Jack exploded on my plug and the fight was on.
With no reds we moved out and set up a drift and another and another. We picked up alot of shorts and a few 15 to 17 inchers but not what we were looking for, so we moved to shallow water to try and find a couple of bigger ones and once again the spook worked.A huge trout blew up on it and took off but came loose,I thought i had blew it but with a couple of twitches he hit it again and we boated him.24 inches 4lbs.
By now the tide was going out pretty good so we set up off of an oyster bar and finally my wife hooked her first red, a 20 inch beauty.
