Andre, Jon, my son Jackson and I left dockside around 8:30. Seas were a confused 1-2, but a welcome change to the past couple of weekends.

The captain drove us down the river...

First spot Andre and I go in and proceed to start murdering the triggers and mangrove snapper. Vis was a hazy 20 feet. I was stringing up a fish when Andre tapped me on the shoulder to give me the ...../\.... sign. I look around and see him come cruising in, a 6 foot bull.

I quickly rush him an give his tail a jab with my spear and he takes off for at least 10 minutes. Then he comes back. With a fin kick he spooks again. About 2 minutes later he comes back again and proceeds to swim almost directly under me and he looked pretty "hot" as I had my gun pointed at his head for a good 5 count. That is as close as I have ever come to shooting one. Andre and I decided we'd had enough and came up.

We dove a couple of more spots with nothing much to show. Then we hit a ledge on the way in. I did pretty good with a stringer of grouper, red snapper, triggers and a 22" hogfish.

Andre managed another mangrove and a gag, and Jon got a small hog.

Back on the surface it was pretty hot with no wind, so we decided to cool off.

We dove 3 spots all averaging 65 feet. Water temp was 78 on the surface with a thermocline that dropped to about 72. Back at the dock at 4:00 with the boat and fished cleaned by 5.

Final tally:
3 grouper
1 red snapper
10 mangroves
7 triggers
2 hogfish

We had similar results on Sat except throw in a couple of scamp. Dove 60-67 and never found the gags. 300# jewfish had setup on two of the ledges.
