The week of the flies

Post by Chalk »

I set out with a mission to tie a new fly every day this week, I didn't make it last night, but the rest of the days were a success.

Grass Shrimp - craft fur and palmered strung rooster hackle

The recipe called it a green grass shrimp, but I named it Captain Cave Man  - craft fur, estaz and craft fur dubbed and palmered over the estaz.

My version of a DC wiggler - grizzly cock saddle patch (some 7" strung woolly bugger hackle is the best, didn't have any), chenille and palmered grizzly cock

VIP popper - crystal flash, deer hair and foam from craft store.

I tied these Sunday - crab spoons

I love this stuff

 Negative, QB - if I can get my tired, fat fingers to work around thread, materials, & sharp hooks anybody can! Of course, I haven't tied anything yet since that darned ole Chalk dragged me out of retirement...I'm still trying to find all the stuff I hid on myself five years ago. :smt010 If you decide to get into to this business of fly fishing (by the way, if you can learn how to toss a Zebco, you can cast a flyrod) I will find you an instructor or teach you myself!!!
