The first "RED" and "POMP" of vacation..

Post by bman »

First day at Mexico Beach and my wife asked to hang close to the house.
Thats ok- we have a week and the sister in law and her husband are coming tonight...

So I went surf fishing between storms.
I hooked my first red about 12....
He fought well and stripped a lot of drag.... then he hit the beach... :(

It did fight like the dickens....

Then caught my first pompano on an sand flea just outside the breakers
He stripped a lot of drag.... and finally gave up the fight in the bereakers just before a storm hit....

Ok so they were a Bullnose ray and a black drum- but I was steps from the house and it was still fun...

Tomorrow I'm going real fishing

Barry,

I forgot you were headed out there. Good luck this week. I've never caught a black drum out of the surf, but if you play around near the Inter Coastal there you'll find some more  Pretty fun fish.
In the end we will conserve only what we love. We will love only what we understand. And we will understand only what we are taught.

This is proof you are delusional and not qualified to surf fish, you may be harmless but there is no doubt you are nutty as a fruit cake and should make a coffin shaped sand castle.

Sorry I just wanted to be like my former mentor Mudducker.
Yesterday it was taboo today it is normal what the heck will they be doing tomorrow?

If we are not supposed to eat animals, why are they made out of meat?

You can't be like me....you ain't nice enough. After all, I've taken your loud mouth out fishing several times and I haven't left you for the sharks....yet :smt005

However, you would do well to learn more about surf fishing...I'm sure you are qualified to captain that trip. :smt005
