This was fri. before last headed back in to Indian Pass. there was about a 20mph head wind between us and the landing. Doing about 25 thru the white caps. Not too bad considering the size of my boat.

Asking 17K but that's probably more than he paid for it '05. In 05' those boats were maybe 15K new + the grand for the push pole. It is Model B1. Offer him 10k in folding money and I bet you'll have yourself a new boat.

Aint your dad a huge fly guy? He'll love this boat. Get some of your inheritance early from him. :-D

I just wanted to post a reply before this thread goes by the way side since the author has already bought a boat. It's more for someone who in the furture might do a search in this form. I have fished out of a 16' menski many times. My buddy uses his in Mosquito Lagoon quite often. And we have fished it out of Lanack and Mashy Sands a few times. It does have a very shallow draft, and seems to be a very light boat. My buddy can pole it just about it all day and not be more worn out than poling other more expensive boats. There is a lot more fishing room on this boat than many many other larger boats. You can fish two comfortablely on the front!!! I have personally fished four out of this skift and killed the red fish, just gotta be carefull!!! ALso ROcket said it looks wet, well that isn't the case it is very dry, atleast my buddies is. He does have trim tabs, so if you are getting wet you might want to invest in those. Whom ever said it was a little ruff on the behind they are correct, but for that loss of comfort you add several bills to your wallet, so use those as cushining. You can also order flip top seating which I'm sure would help. The only draw back I have noticed is the limited rod and tackle storage... but how many rods do you really need on a 16' flats boat and unless your Name is the Chalknator then why have more than one or two boxes of gear with you??? And a couple of the compartments are a little creaky, I know thats got to be somesort of easy fix. SO to sum this up. From my experiance these are good flats boats, and for the price I'd say they are very good. For a new Hewes you'll spend twice the money and probably catch the same size and amount of fish.
