Movie Review: I am Legend

Post by Tom Keels »

Saw this yesterday morning with friends. Had high hopes that the movie would take elements from the book, and the first 2 movies and improve on them. I was not disappointed, for the most part.

The first hour of this movie is some of the most emotionally draining and intense scenes you will ever witness in a movie.

You'll be on the edge of your seat one minute and sobbing like a little girl the next. It's truly gut wrenching in places.

The last 20 minutes or so is sort of a let down with as much as you go through in the first 2/3rds. I think with about 20 more minutes of screenplay delving more into the aspects of the book this movie would be one of the top films of all time. But, don't get me wrong. It works in what its trying to do for the most part.

That being said, its a wonderfully emotional ride. This is not a "popcorn flick". This is a movie that should be watched intently and enjoyed for what it is at its core...A study in human behavior. Wil Smith gives an Oscar worthy performance in a non-Oscar worthy roll.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Funny thing is, that review is almost word for word what they said on The Big Show this morning  :o :smt005

Glad you enjoyed it, I'll have to check it out.

BTW, Alivinand the boys weren't that bad either.

good call Tom. I haven't read the book. But the movie is really good. It is intense and sometimes difficult to watch.....in a good, holy sh*t, whats' about to happen kinda way. I don't go see many movies, but this one is worth it.

SAW THE MOVIE YESTERDAY AND IT IS PRETTY INTENSE AT TIMES, ALSO PRETTY SCARY THERE WAS ONE POINT WHERE THE GUY BEHIND ME ABOUT JUMPED OVER ME.
Yesterday it was taboo today it is normal what the heck will they be doing tomorrow?
