1/28, New Territory

Post by Littoral »

I guess the fish are real cold and finicky. Found 6 nice trout, all 20" or better.
Whatever pattern there was I never figured it out. All my fish seemed to appear from out of nowhere.
I assume that they were there but I couldn't get them to bite. Ain't complaining one bit though,
especially with one going 25":

This pic does no justice. I really need to set myself up a decent method for taking pictures.
I did take a picture of my rod with a yard stick to compare and measure the fish, which is how I got 25".
I'd guessed 25" but was hoping 26".

Nice Trout!!

I took and cut the sticker type law stick so all I could see was the tape measure part and stuck it on my rod from the front cork to the first eye, i think it was a GA law sticker, but FL lawsticker would work. Helps when your wading to not have to walk back to the boat to measure your catch!!

There is a company that makes a measuring sticker that goes on your Rod, but I just mark the side of my Kayak to get a rough measurement.

When I used to wade fish a lot. I would rap electrical tape on my rod to measure fish. From the butt of my rod I would have the tape at 15" 20" and 27". Worked well and lasted for a couple of years.

Is that what I think it is, Lit? If so, did you fish yesterday or today? If it is what I think it is, there was a ton of reds in that stretch of water.
