We moved in a little shallower, and marked a nice ledge near a number given to us and decided to drop on it. This was in 50 feet of water. Forgot the buoy so it took a minute to get right on it, but finally we were confident it was under us. This was about 3:00 pm. First drop we get a 24" gag and a nice sea bass. We knew we had finally found the spot... From within 50 feet of that spot we caught 5 keeper gags, a mess of grunts and bass, and 1 trigger fish. They seemed to be biting on everything.. squid, chunks of LYs, chunks of perch. Deciding to save a few for another day, we ran in near DI to about 30 feet of water... caught a beautiful 25" red there. We were sort of amazed by this as we figured he should be up in the creeks. He bit on a chunk of squid.
Overall a beautiful day on the water. Our friendly marine patrol officer even gave us a warning on a missing fishing license and expired flares. Thank you sir! If you're reading this, license has been purchased, flares updated, and we will be 100% legal next time we see ya!
