Rod n Reels... which is the best?

I am currently in the process of buying new rod n reels but i want one that will last, also good for freshwater and saltwater (3-8 feet of water) i have been using abu-garcia but my father uses shimano any advice? :smt009

Abu garcia revo stx or shimano curado 200 or cardiff 200. 7' Falcon medium casting rod. 12 lb Berkley Big Game mono. You are now set up to catch about anything that swims inshore.
Boom goes the dynamite.

cabo 30 shimano stradic 4000 power pro 10 lbs 25lbs shock leader loomis green water,cabo 8ft,stcroix nice...
