St.George Island

Post by DixieReb »

We went there this weekend to get away, it is cold there. Felt colder than here in Ga. Talked to 2 guys surf fishing from Gettysburg, Pa. that had been out there all day and had one whiting in the bucket. Said it had been that way all week, not much biting. We tried the bridge twice and got loads of small sand trout that would have made great live bait, and caught one good whiting. Gave it to another couple from Tally that had 3 other whiting. Saw 2 whiting caught on the Eastpoint side of bridge yesterday afternoon, water had calmed down a lot and it was warmer. I guess it is still too cold, water needs to warm up more and they should show up over there. But like they say, it was fish'in!

Good to see a report that shows it like it is, it's times like these that make us appreciate the good fishing days....................great report and thanks for sharing it, the warm water is not too far away............I wish I wasn't so far away also!
