That's a terrific first fish on the fly. I still remember my first fish on the long rod.....a gut hooked needlefish!

How are you liking the ZG? It looks like you are using the Battenkill Big Game as well. I have on order now and look forward to it arriving. I was going to purchase a Vortex for my Bahamas trip but I learned that the Orvis price reduction was because the reel is no longer made in the States.......

Can't really say...right now I feel like an old woman driving around in a corvette....I'm not really putting the rod through all its paces due to my lack of skill.

I can say it feels good and it's pretty.

The spoon is still hands down the number 1 red bait...just not yesterday. The trick is knowing when it won't work as well as something else.
