1st time on this lake. Used a trolling motor as no outboards are allowed. There is no real landing and vehicles are not allowed, so we had to roll the trailer down to the lake by hand. Luckily we were fishing a gheenoe so it wasn't too bad.
Fished from 10:30am to 5:00pm. Not a single bass or bream. Threw artificials as well as crickets and red wigglers to no avail. Beautiful place though!! Lots of birds and gators, and very few people. Almost like fishing a private lake.

Re: Lake Piney-Z
This post makes me teary eyed. I grew up fishing that lake when it was private and its a shame what has happened to it.

What's funny is on the brochures they have at the entrance to the lake, they brag about how the bottom was cleaned up a few years ago so now the fish have a place to bed. Those fish must still be asleep!!!
I have never in my life fished live bait all day and not caught a single fish. Other people I talked to who were fishing from shore told many tales of 9-10 lb bass, beds of bream, and monster crappie. Maybe there used to be, or maybe this summer they'll show up. I don't know, but it was very frustrating.

I fished that lake regularly as a guest of Grace Dansby regularly in the early nineties. Many of good times were had on that lake.
