SpearFishing Report

We had the opportunity to spend the weekend with a great bunch of guys from Hollyridge, North Carolina. Two days of spearfishing was on the menu. Jim Singleton, owner of Scuba Tech, and his band of warriors set out early Saturday morning with Capt. Reid and our Divemaster David Carter leading the hunt for big fish. The seas were calm, visibility was great, water temp. was 65 degrees at depths of 100 ft. plus. We took them to where the monsters live about 55 miles south of Carrabelle. It was a long day but a good time was had by all. Some of the guys saw some big Jewish. We didn't know they grew that big, not on the Atlantic side anyway.

We shot some grouper, black snapper ect. On Sunday we stayed in shallow depths of 60 ft. Visibility was about 20 ft., water temps. the same at 65 degrees. Shot more grouper and hogfish along with black snapper to finish off the day.

Commercial grouper season is closed until march 15th but all you recreational guys can still go out and get your bag limit so as I always say, "A bad day on the gulf is better than a good day at the office." So get out there and catch em' up!!

Until next time, stay tuned!
