I do that with the saltwater every time. Put water in until just under the ice top. Drop a trout in and instead of thrashing on top of the ice it swims down in it. The water is so cold you can hardly stand to did them out for cleaning.Good Times wrote:Nice mess of pheeshes. A Little Lemon, little old bay, little butter, little grillin and they are good. Caught on 00 Mackerel Tree Rigs. Doesn't take long catching three and four at a time.
Cooking: On the grill in a foil pack with butter(or oil), garlic and your favorite seasoning. Pan fried is always good too.
