We went to the yamaha reef first and started wrestling in AJs one after another. Had our three keepers up to 41 inches, wow they are strong! After that we went looking for groupers. We picked up 7 keepers (2 nice reds and 5 gags) then a really good 30" gag trolling a strech 30 on the way in. The white caps settled down in the afternoon and was very nice, we cleaned fish until dark then cleaned the boat up sun. morning and came home. Cant wait to go back! 8)

Did you get the AJ's with live bait? With bait harder to find this time of year I was wondering how to target AJ's in the winter while they are around.

Good catch SF. Hadn't heard anybody mention AJ's lately. Do they stay for the winter months or move out?

They are a pretty reliable catch all through the winter.

We caught the AJ,s on live pins and pig fish, the only artificial Ive been able to get one on is a bucktail jig tipped with a squid. The AJ,s slowed down in the dog days of summer but seem to be in full force now. We,re still catching plenty of bait with sabikis tiped with squid or fishbites, mainly around grass. 8)
