Conasauga River*** Georgia Fly Fishing Help

Post by CatchYourLimit »

Anybody have any tips on a trip to Georgia for some fly fishing? I'm just looking for some trout streams or rivers I can wade in and have some fun. I've done some research online but nothing like a first hand experience. If anybody has any tips they would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

CYL,

We own property on the Conasauga just above the Tenn line. That far down river there are no trout. So if you're going to fish for trout make sure you fish the headwaters well into GA (the river actually starts in GA, flows into Tenn, and then dumps back into GA). If you're willing to drive an additional 45-60 minutes North, the Hiawassee holds a good stock of hatchery fish that will certainly give you some action. If you go up that way please make sure you send back a report would ya?!
