Took the kayak and put in at Lower Bridge a little before 4:00 this afternoon. The river was higher than I expected and rising. Worked a 10" Culprit worm rigged weedless, no weight, along the banks. I don't know what color Culprit calls this, it's dark green with glitter. Went up the east side of the river from the bridge and back down the west side. Only fished the wide, shallow, grassy stretch. Got a bunch of strikes, but I think a lot of them were stumpknockers. Which is why I don't usually fish soft plastics in this river. Landed 3 bass, all largemouths, the big one 19".
Also worked a chartreuse Moss Master Tournament Frog, but did nothing with that.
I think next time I fish this stretch under these conditions I'm going to use a small slip sinker.

Re: Wakulla River 4/27
ive been using a worm weight above my culprits. Ive been fishing the blue glitter and its been pretty clutch. Had one fish on zoom green u tail worms. those things are too damn thin. they get snagged in the grass and fall apart. the culprits are much tougher plastic for an extra 30 cents.

i like the strike king zeros in watermellon flake and the sk zulu TOO's in blue glimmer pearl on the wakulla. i lived in mysterious waters for a while and have found those are my best go to plastics. and the bream wont tear them up. a single colorado blade spinnerbait in white a dusk is pretty money too.
