You nay sayers can think what you want, but these guys have consistently produced trout in the 5lb plus category in many of these local trout tournaments over the years, so i am sure that it would be a hog if they were to brag about one. Congrats to a couple of fine fishermen for a nice catch and release.

Great news. I do hope the pic includes measurement.
They are skinny sometimes but 29" should be more than 7lbs.
Also, the best good research I know of that addresses the range/size class of trout
"in" the Gulf includes St Andrews Bay in its assessment.
St Andrews was near the bottom of the list for length.

The prior evidence says 29" doesn't happen much so it's no surprise people are skeptical.
I want a 30". I really want a 30".
If I catch one but I don't have a picture that includes a measurement then
I wouldn't expect anybody to accept 30".
Actually listening to what other people say is worth the effort.

Junior and Ashley have no reason to exaggerate any fish. If they said it was 29" and weighed 7 bls....It did.

We have all taken pictures of fish where we didn't think the picture did the fish justice, sometimes making the fish appear larger then it does also.
If we were all crazy, Wouldn't that make us all normal.

My scales must be bad off we had 31'' that was real skinny and only went 5 1/2 lbs and have seen several 28'' to 30'' that was under 6lbs.....And on the flip side have seen 26''ers way over 6lbs!!!

Look at the tourney this weekend. The bass boys weighed in a 25.5" football and Fp and company had a 27" fish that was laid out. Both absolutely beautiful fish. Ashley consistantly catches big fish and whips most peoples behinds in the tourneys he chooses to fish. I dont doubt it a bit. If he told me a pinfish weighed ten lbs, Id take his word for it cause 9 times out of 10, he can back it up. Just my .02 and then some.

Wow. Touchy stuff.
Sure, 29" could go even less than 7lbs.
If it matters this much then maybe in the future a measurement would help.
Glad to hear there are big trout out there.

With all those skeptical readers out there maybe he'd be better off to just share it with his friends!
People that catch a lot of fish fish a lot!

Hey Chalk, Remember a similar discussion on this site a few years ago concerning a 30" trout somebody claimed to have caught at the Fina. I bearly remember it, but I think it lingered on the site for a very long time. So long ago that I was still training you, you bearly had stopped we-weing in your diapers yourself. Ohh kids grew up so fast. :smt010
