panacea 5-10

Post by roadtrip »

I went down for the weekend in hopes of a fishing overdose. My wife, 3 girls, father and I
headed out mid morning Sat. The sleepy heads would not budge early. Due to the
HIGH winds we tucked in and fished the grass flats right of the Panacea channel around Ochlockonee Pt.
The fish seemed to bite in 5' to 6' of water only. All the fish were caught on Gulps and jigheads.
We managed 8 keepers out of about 15 caught. The largest fish went 20". Lunch and a cold  at
Hook wrecks is hard to beat. Sunday morning it was whitecapping in my canal so we threw in the towel
and headed home. So much for the overdose :(

PA,

It looks nice in that picture, but I can assure you it was NASTY down there by mid-afternnon.

Lot's of people out braving the wind on the flats, though.

Nice trip. We were leaving Destin Sunday and the wind was really up there. Tell your youngest one that I like her hat. Go Dawgs!
