Cedar Key Info
Hey gang. New to the forum, but I know some of the names and faces. I was wondering if anyone fishes around Cedar Key? I am heading up there for the 4th of July weekend and wanted to know about the water. Are there huge rocks like St. Marks, etc? If I stay within the channels will I be ok? I am running a Key West 1900CC Sportsman. Thanks for any help guys.

HI TT, GET A GOOD MAP IF YA GONNA GO TO CEDAR KEY. THERE IS PLENTY OF OYSTER BARS ALL OVER THE PLACE BUT THE CHANNELS ARE WELL MARKED. ANYWHERE OUT OF THE CHANNELS GO SLOW UNTILL YOU ARE FAMILIAR WITH THE PLACE.

Thanks Jim. Might have some serious map reading to do. That and it looks like I'll be doing a lot of idling. Unless you want to lend me the BC! =D

Where is BigBend Brian? Doesn't he fish out of there regularly. Good map, good gps and patience will pay off. It is a great place to fish, but it is also a great place to lose a lower unit off of your kicker if you aren't careful!
Its a wonderful day in the neighborhood!

Thanks Mud. Will plan the first outing on the low tide and take it ultra slow. Appreciate the help.
