Fished the head of the bay Friday and Saturday. Couldn't buy a bite in the mornings during the incoming, trout or redfish. Managed one 21" red. Friday afternoon during the strong outgoing Kyle and I managed to get a redfish a piece on topwater. We also saw two redfish that were struggling to get into deeper water between us and land. Their backs and all fins were completely exposed. We eased up on them, but they were not interested. I guess they didn't realize that the tide can rip out that quickly in St. Joe. Saturday morning we caught one hardhead. In the early afternoon we caught some live bait and tried a grass edge near a deep cut where I had caught huge trout back in the day. It payed off and we caught 4 - 19", 1- 20", and 2 - 22" trout. Then we switched to topwater again and caught several more nice trout in shallower water, including one that got leader released that probably went around 23". Sunday we went to the north end of the bay and had better luck. 5 redfish to 30", 3 flounder, and a huge spanish. Most of the redfish were sightcasted. Good trip.
One of Kyle's 5 pigs he got while I fiddled with my fly rod.

I'm staying with BG on Thursday and Friday nights...I'm going to fish wherever the newest charter captain in Florida tells me too.
Friday morning I'll be fishing by myself in the Bay until BG gets off work at noon. With my luck the dirty thirty trout will hit and I'll have to try and land / net the beast alone.
