Sage 1600 series reel

Post by sundown »

Anybody had any experience with these ? I gotta upgrade from my present reel as I found out this afternoon what happens with a jerky drag and a big fish . Lost one in a creek fishing with a fly I tied that was like trying to hold a freight train. The 3300 and 3400 reels are a little too high shelf for me at this time....This fly fishing is gonna be addictive. Can't wait till my boat comes in and I get it rigged out..Probaby gonna go to creek fishing altogether ! Also got a killer clouser I tied over the weekend that I'll take a picture of and post......

My brother has one and loves it. I think, and I could be wrong, but it might be made by Lamson

Another reel to look at would be the Lamson Konic. They are making it in an 8wt size now and it is a really cool reel. I bought one for my 5wt and I love it. It has the same drag as my Litespeed so I know it will hold up well.
