Highlight of the day came early, approximately 7 am, with Sharkman using a 9 weight rod casting a fly to a VERY nice cobe... fly looked a lot like this...

Sharkman's fly was inhaled within seconds of hitting the water and quick as lighting the Cobia has Sharkman down to his backing... must give Sharkman credit where credit is due, he did a great job putting just the right amount of tension on the cobia to slowly tire him down.

Fight was a LONG one... pretty much a full 45 minutes, with the Cobia making run after run each time we got it close to the boat. Fairly long clip (little over 2 minutes), but the video below shows just how good of a fight the cobia was giving Sharkman.

Good news is Sharkman and I both got leader grabs... sad news is the cobia did break the leader line as we tried to bring him on board so NO picture

Within minutes of ending the flyrod fight with the big cobia, Sharkman hooked up again... this time using a pinfish to draw in a considerably smaller cobia. Being smaller didn't prevent the cobia from having the typical "never give up" spirit, as is evidenced by the photos below! Sharkman had to put up with me laughing for a minute or so as the cobia just wouldn't stay still for a photo-op!

Had a few more hookups with nice sized cobias, but with much shorter fights due to cutoffs, line breaks, etc...
