Rust Stains

Post by Hit-n-Miss »

:o Thanks to my beautiful wife who is a genius. I have a handy tip on how to remove those pesky rust stains. First here is a before picture.

You take baking soda and lemon juice and mix together to scrub the area. It will foam when it mixes.

I used a tooth brush to scrub around the fittings with. It will take a little elbow grease but I did all the stains in thirty minutes. Simply rinse off the residue and your done.

And no harsh chemicles needed. :-D

Wow! Good idea, and that is a safe cleaner for the environment. (That makes me sound like a tree hugger, but it's true)

Good tip indeed. The same mixture will work to clean dirty/corroded battery terminals as well. Let her bubble for a while till it quits then rinse with water. If lemon juice isn't available vinegar can be used.

Baking soda and Coke works also.

Hit-n-Miss,
Tell your clever wife she's famous. I used her suggestion as the basis for my latest blog.

You can read it at http://www.saltwatersportsman.com/artic ... 1000063768" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It's called Dock Buzz and I'm now in the weekly posting mode.

Thanks for posting the tip originally. I'm sure our readers will appreciate it.
