Re: Lower Unit Scratches
Porter Rock Guard best money I've spent in a while. It won't keep you from knocking the foot off doing 50 mph in places you shouldn't go but for everyday bumping into rocks it ain't bad.

Re: Lower Unit Scratches
That is exactly what I need. There are some places on the Flint where I could idle my boat up to the shoals and that would be perfect. Thanks for the tip buddy! If you ever need a ride to get some keys cut, holler at me!

About how much would one of the Porter rock guards set a person back? My skeg could use some love and it looks like a good investment.

Re: Lower Unit Scratches
Does it just cover the skeg or is that a piece going up the motor too? I can't tell but from RC and RR's pictures it looks the same.

Re: Lower Unit Scratches
It covers the skeg and also has the 1/4" SS bar up the back of the lower unit. I put one on a 115 with a broken skeg and he quoted me $200. $180 for the gaurd and $20 for the skeg repair. Take cash with and he'll discount the price.

Awwww crap just as i'm thinking about getting Porter to put one on, I hear today that he messed himself up pretty good. Apparently he was cutting limbs and one came back and knocked his ladder out from under him, or some such thing. Sounded like he's gonna be out for a while, I wish him the best.
