BayCraft 175 Flats Explorer

Post by creech »

Does anyone have any opinions good or bad about these boats. There is one for sale here in Jax, Fl and this is what the guy sent me in an email.

"2001 BAYCRAFT 175 FLATS Edition, all composite fiberglass, w/50 HP 4 stroke Honda & 2001 aluminum trailer, trim tabs, jack plate, hydraulic steering, leaning rest, stereo, polling platform, & push pole."

I think this boat can be had for under $8,000.

Here is the manufacturers website. Any comments are appreciated!

Never saw one before seems a tad under powered there site says 60 - 90, and shows it rigged with 90, underpowered boats run and plane poorly and eat motors, for me I wouldn't want that small a boat. To many great boats selling cheap right now to do that unless it is just what you are looking for.
Yesterday it was taboo today it is normal what the heck will they be doing tomorrow?

I agree. Definitely under powered. I think that you might regret it if you purchased it.

Now I have a 1756 G3 for only $6500 that is for sale, and it is a 2003 with a 60hp Yammy if you're interested. :-D

Not trying to be funny but I would bet the 60 on the tin can would rip a new one on that fiberglass boat very big weight difference for sure. The G3 seems to be a better match for its motor size. Also I bet it would fit more than two anglers a little easier, the glass job two would be a stretch.
