Hey just woundering how many miles per gallon should I get with my 1989 Yamaha 200HP pushing a 1980 19ft 6in Aquasport? I know its a older motor but just a estimate would be good.
I droped my prop off to Gator this morning. He said Thurs or Fri it will be ready. I cant wait to get back out there and do some fishing.
Gas MPG?

I'd guess maybe 2.5-3 mpg, if you cruise at 35-4000 rpm's on fairly smooth seas. Just a guess, as I said.
Depends on water conditions, prop size, trim/throttle settings, and individual helm habits and ability.. i.e. hold a heading, etc.
Install a fuel flow gauge and learn to use it to maximize performance.
Good luck with your fishing and y'all be careful..

200 carbed motor on a 20' offshore boat. I pretty much agree with qoutrage. Between 2 and 3. You also have to consider the load. 6 people and a full 120 quart ice chest will cut into your fuel economy. Throttle up to wide open throttle and watch the fuel gauge drop.
What was I supposed to do today?

I AM GETTING ABOUT 3 MPG ON A 18 FT. SEARAY RUNNING AT 2/3 THROTTLE, THIS IS ABOUT 32-35 MPH. SEARAY IS QUITE HEAVY COMPARED TO MY 18 ALUM STARCRAFT. THE STARCRAFT WITH A 85 HP EVINRUDE GETS 4-4 1/2 MPG. I CAN LEAVE THE LIGHTHOUSE AND FISH ALL DAY GOING AS FAR AS ECONFINA ON ROUGHLY 4 GAL. FUEL.

I DO LIKE THE GOOD MILEAGE, THAT IS WHY I VERY SELDOM GO OVER 2/3 THROTTLE, THIS BOAT PLANES OUT AT ABOUT 22 MPH AND I GENERALLY GO JUST A LITTLE BIT MORE ON THE SPEED, SAVES GAS AND ENGINE. THIS 85 HAS PROBABLY 2,500 HOURS ON IT AND STILL IN GREAT SHAPE.
