To think I could have trolled Mackerel trees instead.
It is my personal goal to convince as many people as possible how
much fun they can have catching Spanish on topwater.
Stained water. Plenty of Anchovies.
Scattered fish but steady 25-27".
This was fun too, 39".

Very Nice.

nice work Lit. Looks like some sloppy seas; what kind of boat are you fishing out of these days?

Nice mackerels. What do you use for top water mack action? I have always loved using the bubble rig with a straw or clarkspoon but would love to try other lures.

Chug Bug always with upgraded rings and hooks. It's my go to topwater for everythingleonreno wrote:What do you use for top water mack action?
anyway because you can walk it as well as a Skitter/Top Dog if it's on a loop knot tied with
a short piece of stiff ~50ib flouro AND, especially for Spanish, you can blow it up (real hard 10 times)
to mimic a lot of surface action.

thanks littoral, I already have a few of those in the arsenal, will give them a try. There is nothing like a good topwater bite.
