Left landing about 715 and headed out off shore..... the 2-3s were more like 3-5s and set out till 14 miles out and decided to come back in about 4 miles till the waves calmed down. It was white capping and not too friendly. Got in to real 2-3s and caught some small gags about 10 miles out... Later wind calmed down and got out picked up nice king on stretch 30 and some good sized spanish but these were not our targeted fish! Ended the day with our limit of gags( not too fair if you ask me since we could have had an 2008 limit without problems) and no red grouper or blacks. Any way , we had a great day on the water. The seas calmed down great and there wasn't too much grass out 18 miles. We caught fish in 32-37 feet. Nothing in 40 feet. The grouper liked the pink, chartrouse and silver and blue. Had a new cordell stretch named cotton candy and it did great! First time out since Jan 1st in our new boat and everthing was smooth and dry! Tried a little bottom fishing but no grouper bites.
Had the ocean to ourselves as no other boats in site... that was a real supprise. Hope everyone had a great Easter!
