Smitty

Post by birddog »

To stay in shape between the April and May NFGFC tourneys, Smitty is fishing the World Sailfish Championship out of Key West, FL this week. He is fishing on the Shock and Awe, a 40' Cabo. Today was the 1st day of competition and they released 5 sails to secure 11th place for the day. They have 2 more days to fish. Hopefully, they can move on up the leader board.

I talked to him tonight and he said their boat was tied up alongside George Strait's 84' Sportfisher. Pretty cool.

Here's the link to the WSC if anyone is interested.

Gotcha  Somebody needs to tell Jay not to try and be clever by having Sailfish as the mystery fish at any of the tourneys!!

Good luck Smitty! And I dont name the mystery fish, I only pay for it :-D The mystery fish is left up to the tournament coordinator, Mr. Cook! I have a funny feeling it is gonna be something this time that doesnt live in St. Joe Bay though!

Shock and Awe finished up 14th overall out of 80 something boats. The last day was rough with very little current flow. A heck of a finish in my book. Congrats Smitty.
