Lake Hall - April 19

Post by Terrier »

Fished the lake from 9:00 AM to about 3:00PM. Pretty much fished only with fly rods despite the 10-15mph wind. Managed 8 bream, 5 specks and 2 bass, most on a chartreuse clouser style fly fished on a sink tip line . A lot of the fly fishing was simply drifting with the wind. The specks were really active - I saw another fisherman trolling a jig (looked to be black body /chart curl tail) who must have limited out. The specks are in about 8-10 feet of water off the pads. Hopefully they'll be there next week and the wind won't be howling.

Sounds like a good day, 3 species biting good. I think the specks should be heading for shallower water soon, almost time for them to bed.
