Dog Island Spanish attack

Post by BrogensDuck »

Headed out towards Dog Island towards a few spots a friend had on his GPS and all of a sudden he does a u-turn and says "look at that bait!" As we crept over there, we decided to throw some topwater plugs into the fray and ended up wrestling and chasing huge pods of spanish for the rest of the afternoon. We would pull up to the pod, throw in and listen to the drag scream. They were coming out of the water at mach 5...very fun to watch. Needless to say, we both thinned out our plug reserves in our tackle box, but worth it. Here is a pic of the take. I wish I would have put a ruler by them, but just consider the little on was 14 inches.

Spanish make for a lot of fun on light tackle. Congrats on a great day!
